A Lifetime in Focus: The Photography of Bob & Val Somerville

Join us at MontiArts July 1 through July 31 as we celebrate the lives and extraordinary photography of Bob and Val Somerville. Bob and Val were a beloved part of our community, and this special retrospective honors not only their remarkable talent behind the camera but also the legacy they left in Monticello.

This is no ordinary exhibition. Visitors are welcome to simply enjoy the show, or, if a photograph speaks to them, make an optional free will donation and take the artwork right off the gallery wall. It’s a rare opportunity to bring home a piece of local history while supporting the Somerville family.

Can’t make an Open House? The exhibition will also be open during our regular Open Studio hours: Tuesdays: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesdays: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Thursdays: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Members of the Monticello Camera Club will be at the Open Houses to share stories about Bob and Val, their work, and the lasting impact they had on our community. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating two people who helped preserve so many of Monticello’s memories through the lens of a camera.
